Analyze the text and discuss not only his arguments but also why or why not you think they are successful.

Directions: You are to write a thorough, organized, and carefully argued paper, 4-5 pages, on a

single, unified thesis that YOU develop addressing the following questions: Does Sartre

successfully defend himself against the charges of subjective relativism? What do you think are

the main strengths and weaknesses of a Sartrean ethic? Analyze the text and discuss not only his

arguments, but also why or why not you think they are successful.

In order to do this, you will have to demonstrate a nimble knowledge of the relevant passages in

the text that support your thesis.

Make sure to organize your paper around your own thesis and state that thesis in your

introductory paragraph. Remember that a thesis is an argument, something you want to prove,

and not simply a fact or theme you point to in the text. You build the body of the paper around

your thesis You must use correct formatting for this paper. Refer to the Norton Style Guide or the

Bedford Handbook if you need help. Chicago Style or MLA are fine.
