What potential breakthroughs or barriers do you see with the instrument or application of information provided by the instrument?

Question #1 – A potential issue with this type of instrument is that its primary measures involve only two characteristics of leadership; participative or directive leadership. Is this not similar to a personality survey measuring our levels of introversion or extroversion?
We likely have preferences or predilections (toward introversion or extroversion) but generally speaking, certain situations demand change and if we are not capable or willing to change ourselves, we potentially create a roadblock to becoming successful leaders! The other thing I dont like hearing from leaders is when they say they are eclectic. What are your thoughts on the instrument itself and the information it provides? What potential breakthroughs or barriers do you see with the instrument or application of information provided by the instrument?

ACADEMIC CONCEPT – Optional participation – What does it mean to become a subject-matter expert?

Question # 2 – Last week, we discussed developing your topic. This week, I would like to have a short discussion regarding the importance of becoming an expert in a subject. Through your research towards your dissertation, it is be expected that you would become the subject-matter expert in your particular topic. A subject-matter expert is someone who exhibits the highest level of expertise in a specific area.
Let me share a story with you, in fact it is my story! I was happily progressing (naively) through my program, completing my DQs and assignments, and never really thinking about my dissertation. In fact, the only time I even thought about my dissertation was at residency and then I filed that information away never to be thought of again until necessary. Fast forward to the beginning of my 3rd year and a class where I had to write a 30 page Literature Review for my topic. A topic that I had not identified and had not read a single article towards and now within an 8 week course I was going to have to write a 30 page paper and the Module 2 assignment was the first 10 pages. Trust me, you do not want to be within that same situation!
What is one thing that you can commit to doing this week that can contribute towards your possible topic? (Remember, in order to receive participation credit, posts must meet the requirement of 150+ words).

Devotional

Question # 3 – And they said to him, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.” Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?” And they said to him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “The cup that I drink you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized, but to sit at my right hand or at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.” Mark 10:37-40 (ESV)
The above scriptures stem from James and John, the disciples of Jesus, telling Jesus that they want Jesus to do for them whatever they ask and then they ask the infamous request to sit on Jesus right and left hand respectively when they get to heaven. You can imagine the turmoil that this caused with the other disciples! What similarities from this story in the Bible might you relate to both Path-Goal and LMX leadership theories?
