1.- Explain why Human Resource Management is of strategic importance to modern firms.
2.- Explain the concept of employment-at-will. Tell why and how this right of employers is changing.
3.- In Chapter 15 we discussed the “Big Five” personality traits, as well as six other dimensions along which to understand your employees’ personalities. Explain why it is important for a manager to understand the personalities of his or her employees, since we need to treat them all “fairly” anyway.
4.- Describe job rotation, job enlargement, and job enrichment.
5.- Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of more bureaucratic organizations versus less bureaucratic organizations. That is, write about the strengths and weaknesses of each of these types.
