Describe the movie character that you have chosen for this assignment.

Each student will pick a movie to watch and write a paper that includes the listed topics below. You will want to ensure that the movie you pick can be analyzed from a developmental perspective. Even if you have seen the movie recently, you should watch it again because you will be doing so from a different perspective. I do NOT need a synopsis of the movie. That is not what the paper is about. Remember to cite and reference the movie according to APA 6th ed. guidelines. This could easily be a 10 – 12 (body) page paper. If you will write the pa- per using the sections listed below, you can ensure that you are addressing all aspects of the paper. Failure to address any section will result in a significant loss of points. Please see the rubric (found under Relevant Docu- ments on the left menu in the course).
I. Describe the movie character that you have chosen for this assignment. In your description,
include specific details about the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of the character.
II. What is the current developmental task, struggle, or challenge (which may or may not be prompted by a cri- sis, disaster, or other trauma-inducing event)? What are the complicating issues surrounding this developmental stage? What effect does the developmental situation have on the individuals ability/inability to move to the next developmental level, remain in the present one or regress? What are the mechanisms that made this stage of development harder, easier, normal, or abnormal? What part does culture play in the developmental situa- tion?
III. Describe in detail any evidence of addictions or addictive behavior that may inhibit the individuals ability to progress to the next developmental level. If there is no evidence, describe the individuals exposure to drugs or alcohol and s/he reacted to the exposure.
IV. Self-reflection. Describe your feelings and thoughts as you watched the movie and did the assignment? How was your development through this stage similar or not? If it is a stage you have not progressed through, what are your thoughts, feelings, or concerns about moving through that stage? If it is a stage you are currently pro- gressing through, what are your thoughts, feelings, and concerns as you move through this stage?
This assignment will be uploaded to a dropbox that sends the paper through TurnItIn, a program that detects plagiarism. Be sure you know what constitutes plagiarism according to APA, 6th ed.
