The global marketplace has increased the number of opportunities and competition for Intrapreneurs/Entrepreneurs.  From this perspective, marketing professionals must also give consideration to how cultural differences may impact entry or barriers to entering the international business community.

Using the Northcentral library, select and review articles related to international marketing with a focus on ethical concerns and challenges:

  • Connect some of the main concerns about marketing in a global economy to ethics and laws related to your identified new business venture.
  • Provide specific examples of how companies have unethically taken advantage of people and/or situations in other countries and how these actions affect perspectives on marketing and conducting business internationally.
  • Anticipate different concerns for marketing in a global economy. How would you address these issues?
  • Consider the new laws that are in place and watchdog groups that alert the public when companies are behaving unethically or conducting illegal activities in other countries.

Based on your research, use the same industry of the organization/enterprise for the previous 4 weeks to complete this activity.  Develop a 12-15 slide power point presentation for an audience of internal/external stakeholders and investors.  Next, identify 5-7 potential ethical challenges for both domestic and international marketing strategy (political, governmental, demographic, etc.) relevant to your industry.  In addition, use the examples in Exhibit 3.4 of your text to generate ideas. Second, provide industry relevant examples of cultural difference in business conduct from at least 2 countries that your organization/enterprise may consider expanding into (other than the U.S.), and propose specific measures/intervention techniques to overcome these potential challenges to the leadership team. Finally, ask for additional recommendations from the audience to be included in the marketing strategy.

Optional: You may attach a video (YouTube or other) of you facilitating the slide presentation in front of a real or fictitious audience (not more than 1-2 minutes per slide) as an assignment option. Otherwise, just submit the slide presentation, with speaker’s notes as required. Support your presentation with at least three (5) resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included. Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University’s Academic Integrity Policy.
